Healthyhorns Student Outreach Team

The Healthyhorns Student Outreach Team is a paid student outreach team that helps increase the awareness and knowledge of Healthyhorns (University Health Services, Counseling and Mental Health Center, Longhorn Wellness Center) services through peer-to-peer outreach and engagement. Student ambassadors represent Healthyhorns at tabling events, presentations, pop-ups and other outreach opportunities around campus.

The outreach team is a great fit if you enjoy meeting people, sharing helpful information and helping other Longhorns connect with campus resources.

Who can apply?

Stipend

Ambassadors who successfully complete program requirements each semester — including required trainings, assigned outreach shifts and team responsibilities — receive a semesterly stipend:

  • First semester: $200
  • Second semester: $250
  • Third semester and beyond: $300 per semester

A two-semester commitment is required, with the option to renew participation through graduation.

Time commitment

Ambassadors participate during the academic year, with outreach beginning in the fall semester. Outreach schedules are coordinated by Healthyhorns staff and are based on student availability. Most ambassadors complete approximately 18-23 hours per semester, or roughly one to two hours per week depending on team size and assigned outreach shifts. Ambassadors are typically assigned recurring outreach shifts throughout the semester. Training and onboarding are provided before outreach activities begin. Outside of scheduled outreach and meetings, time commitments are minimal.

Application

Applications for Fall 2026 are currently OPEN and may be reviewed on a rolling basis until membership is finalized. Six to eight students will be selected. The application is short, and selected applicants will complete a brief interview.
