Mental Health Assistance and Response Team (MHART)
The Mental Health Assistance and Response Team (MHART) is a mobile crisis response service housed within the Counseling and Mental Health Center. MHART responds to mental health–related crises on campus and works collaboratively with campus partners to help connect individuals to appropriate services. MHART serves students, faculty and staff and provides on-site assessments, safety planning, resource navigation and support with follow-up care.
The program was created collaboratively in 2021 by CMHC, the UT Police Department, the Employee Assistance Program and the Office of the Dean of Students to support mental health needs across the UT Austin campus.
MHART services are available by referral only through designated campus partners. Individual students, faculty or staff cannot directly activate MHART.
