The MindBody Labs
The MindBody Labs are self-paced environments designed to help you explore resources for improving your emotional and physical health. The labs currently feature audio and video instructions on a variety of topics. Most material is experiential, enabling students to follow along and practice skills in real time..
The labs currently contain information and guided exercises on:
- Breathing exercises
- Muscle relaxation
- Meditation
- Relaxation imagery/relaxation sounds
- Guided imagery
- Health and well-being
- Sleep issues
- Food and eating concerns
Some locations also offer the following tools for biofeedback including:
- RESPeRATE, a portable electronic device that promotes deep and slow breathing (available in all locations)
- Galvanic Skin Resistance 2 (GSR2), a device that detects changes in electrical (ionic) activity resulting from changes in sweat gland activity, which is reflective of the intensity of our emotional state (available in the SSB only)
