Published: August 17, 2025
University Health Services is proud to announce Dr. Danielle Glade as our new Chief Medical Officer. Dr. Glade has been a trusted provider in the Primary Care Clinic, known for her compassionate care and clinical excellence.
In her new role, she brings extensive medical knowledge, a patient-centered approach and a strong commitment to advancing student health and well-being across campus.
Dr. Glade earned her BA in Business Administration and English from Trinity University in San Antonio. After graduating, she moved to Colorado, where she worked as a ski instructor and restaurant floor manager.
“That’s where I gained all of my hustle and customer service skills,” she said. “That experience has shaped much of my career.”
She later transitioned from ski instruction to ski patrol, where providing emergency care sparked a passion for medicine.
“I loved being able to help people in a very tangible way,” she said. “Soon after that, we returned to Texas and I enrolled at Texas A&M College of Medicine, officially launching my healthcare journey.”
Dr. Glade earned her medical degree from Texas A&M College of Medicine and also holds master’s degrees in both Medical Sciences and Organizational Training and Development. She completed her pediatric residency at Dell Medical School at UT Austin.
Throughout her career, Dr. Glade has held leadership roles across clinical, academic and hospital settings, including serving as Medical Director for Pediatric Hospitalists and Assistant Program Director for a pediatric residency program. Her commitment to high-quality, evidence-based care is evident in her work on numerous clinical initiatives ranging from adolescent health outreach to early discharge optimization and eating disorder treatment in primary care.
She is a two-time Dell Medical School at UT Austin Pediatric Residency Program Faculty of the Year award recipient and has been recognized for her humanistic approach to medicine.
In the summer of 2024, Dr. Glade joined University Health Services as a provider in the Primary Care clinic. She was immediately drawn to the energy and vibrancy of the UT Austin campus and quickly found her stride working with young adults.
Providing accessible, quality healthcare helps support our students’ physical and mental well-being, which ultimately supports their academic success. We also have the opportunity to help students build lifelong habits around self-care and advocacy for their health.
