UHS offers pregnancy testing in the Women's Health Clinic. You will get your results on the same day as your testing appointment. You will have the opportunity to discuss your results with your healthcare provider.
If you find out that you are pregnant, you have several options to consider: you can continue your pregnancy and raise your child; you can continue your pregnancy and place your child for adoption by another family; or you can terminate your pregnancy. Effective September 1, 2021, the Texas Heartbeat Act prohibits medical providers from performing an abortion once a fetal heartbeat is detected. A fetal heartbeat may first be detected by an ultrasound as early as 5 ½ weeks of gestation (gestation begins the first day of your last period).
If you are pregnant, our Women's Health providers can discuss your options and help connect you to resources in Austin. UHS does not provide obstetrical/prenatal services for pregnant students.
If you are interested in pregnancy prevention, you can learn more about contraception on our website or schedule an appointment with a UHS healthcare provider to discuss your options.
To make an appointment for pregnancy testing at UHS, call 512-471-4955.
