Spring Break Health and Safety Tips

  1. Drink water, especially if drinking alcohol.

  2. Use sunscreen. Apply 15 minutes before you go outside, and reapply every 2 hours.

  3. If you're going to drink, set a limit, try to keep your BAC around .05.

  4. Know the alcohol laws at your destination.

  5. Don't accept drinks from someone you don't know, and never leave your drink unattended.

  6. Step in if someone has had too much to drink. If someone passes out due to alcohol, take action! Turn the person on his/her side, call 911, and stay with the preson until help arrives.

  7. Use a condom everytime you have sex. Keep in mind that people are less likely to use a condom if intoxicted. Be safe, if sex is a possibility, don't drink!

  8. Be informed about emergency contraception.

  9. People are more often sexually assaulted by acquaintances rather than by strangers.

  10. When traveling, remember to pack your health insurance card and allergy bracelets.
