AHA CPR Class Schedule

How to Register
Preregistration required. UT students may register in person at the UHS Health Promotion Resource Center SSB 1.106 or by phone (512) 475-8252, and may pay in advance by check or money order or later via What I Owe.
Anyone not currently enrolled at UT must register in person and pay by check or money order. (We cannot accept cash or credit cards.)
NO REFUNDS.
AHA Healthcare Provider BLS (CPR) Classes
One 4-hour class - $50
UT students - $45
- Also known as BLS (Basic Life Support), this class is appropriate for anyone in the healthcare field, including pharmacy and nursing students, as well as lifeguards and EMTs.
- American Heart Association (AHA) course curriculum. Book included.
- Certification valid for 2 years.
- Course content:
- Single rescuer infant, child, and adult CPR
- Two rescuer infant, child, and adult CPR
- Foreign body airway obstruction in the responsive infant, child, and adult
- Foreign body airway obstruction in the unresponsive infant, child, and adult
- Rescuer breathing with barrier device
- Use of bag valve, bag mask, AED, and protective face barrier

AHA Healthcare Provider (BLS) Renewal Class
One 3-hour class
Class price - $30
UT students - $25
- Book not included. (Book, CD-ROM, and DVD are available in the Health Promotion Lending Library to review during business hours.)
- Class is geared toward healthcare professionals and lifeguards who are already proficient and familiar with current AHA guidelines.
- Instructor will show a brief video review before administering the written and skills tests.
- If current certification expired more than one month ago, or if not proficient with AHA guidelines, take the 6-hour course. AHA guidelines were updated in January 2006.

AHA Heartsaver and First Aid Classes
One 3-hour class
Class price - $55
UT students - $50
First Aid only - $35
- A basic CPR class. Pediatric (infant and child) CPR taught upon request.
- This class is appropriate for childcare workers and others who wish to learn basic CPR. (It is not adequate for healthcare providers, pharmacy and nursing students, or lifeguards.)
- Book included.
- No AED training.
