AlcoholEdu
For Parents & Guardians

Your student really does listen to what you say, especially when it comes to your expectations about alcohol. We encourage you to talk about your expectations and your student's decision making surrounding alcohol use. To support parents in this conversation, UT offers AlcoholEdu Demo for Parents, an online program designed to support your discussion.

This 15-20 minute program includes:

  • Suggestions on the best way to begin conversations about alcohol
  • Overview of the AlcoholEdu for College course
  • Helpful resources, such as tips on talking to your college student about alcohol, fact sheets on alcohol's effect on the brain, how alcohol impairs learning and memory, and more
  • Direct access to AlcoholEdu for College, in an easy-to-use format that allows you to navigate freely from chapter to chapter (approx. 3 hours)
Please note: While new students are required to take the AlcoholEdu for College program, your participation is optional.
